New: Preferred PM polling data

After many requests I’ve relented and compiled a new page for my site which covers all of the publicly available polling for preferred Prime Minister in New Zealand that I can find. Please take a look.

There are a few quick notes I’d like to make…

  • The table is currently rounding the results to the nearest whole number – it’s a lot of data to display. Let me know if you think I should show the decimal places anyway.
  • The order of the candidates in the table is a bit arbitrary – I haven’t quite decided how I want to order them. Having Winston Peters going basically all the way through is quite impressive but makes it somewhat challenging! If you have strong views please let me know.
  • You’ll note there can be quite a bit of variability between pollsters, the is due to the way some pollsters ask the question. I suspect that some only give people a choice between the two major party leaders. (This is one of the main reasons I’ve historically held off doing this.
  • You’ll note that I’m missing the data for the term leading up to the 2005 election – if you have any of that or know where I can find it (or any older data!) please let me know.

As always, if you have any feedback or ideas, I’m here to help. And if you find this a useful resource, any contributes towards the hosting costs would be much appreciated. Details for that are here.
